Enhanced Verification Process Starting December 1, 2023
• Objective: To safeguard prospective students against letter-of-acceptance fraud.
• Action: All post-secondary DLIs will be required to confirm every applicant’s letter of acceptance directly with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
• Benefit: Ensures study permits are issued based on genuine acceptance letters, protecting students from fraud.Recognized Institution Framework for Fall 2024 Semester
• Introduction: A new framework to acknowledge post-secondary DLIs that exceed in providing superior services, support, and outcomes for international students.
• Advantage: Eligible DLIs will enjoy priority processing of study permits for their applicants.Reforms in the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP)
