GCMS Notes for Express Entry Applications

After an Invitation to Apply, your electronic permanent residence application (e-APR) is assessed by an officer whose work is recorded in GCMS. If your file is moving slowly or was refused, the notes show how the officer evaluated the very factors your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was built on.

What Express Entry GCMS notes typically show

• CRS factor assessment — how the officer verified the points claimed for age, education, language, and work experience.
• Work-experience review — whether your skilled experience matched the claimed TEER occupation, and whether reference letters showed duties, hours, and salary.
• Language and education — whether your test results and ECA met the required levels.
• Proof of funds (for programs that require it) and any concern about documents or completeness.
• Eligibility, medical, and security/background statuses as the file progresses to a decision.
